How to get from hotels to IPV
From Pousada da Juventude to IPV
Starting from Pousada da Juventude
Direction: Pousada da Juventude – IPV
You can use the city bus to get to the venue and to travel to the city center.
If you are staying at the Pousada da Juventude and want to go to the IPV, you should take the C2 bus at stop Cap S Pereira – Fontelo. and get off at stop C Politécnica–Escola
Direction: IPV - Pousada da Juventude
You should take the C2 bus at stop C Politécnica–Escola and get off at stop Cap S Pereira – Fontelo.
From Hotel José Alberto to IPV
Starting from Hotel José Alberto
Direction: Hotel José Alberto – IPV
You can use the city bus to get to the venue and to travel to the city center.
If you are staying at the Hotel José Alberto and want to go to the IPV, you should take the C2 bus at stop Colégio Imac Conceição and get off at stop C Politécnica–Escola
Direction: IPV - Hotel José Alberto
You should take the C1 bus at stop C Politécnica–Escola and get off at stop N. S. Fátima-Igreja

From Porto to Viseu
Starting from Porto Airport
Option 1: Direct Bus (duration: 2h30)
From the airport to Viseu
Depending on the day and time you arrive at the airport, you may take a direct bus from the airport to Viseu via Flixbus. Tickets can cost between 5€ and 20€.
Note: These journeys are not regular, so when you arrive at the airport this option may not be available.

Option 2: Metro and Bus (duration: approx. 3h (40 min by metro + 2h by bus)
Airport – Campanhã – Viseu
Porto Metro works from 6am to 1am. You can buy tickets at a vending machine. The metro journey should cost no more than €5 (single ticket).
Step 1
Get to the metro station
Follow the signs on the airport to the metro station. There is an underground bridge that will take you the Airport metro stop.

Step 2
Take the metro to Campanhã
Take the E line (purple) headed to Estádio do Dragão and get out at Campanhã.

Step 3
Take a bus to Viseu
Leave the metro at Campanhã station, walk downstairs and go to the bus station. There is a bus leaving Campanhã to Viseu every hour. You can buy the ticket from Rede Expressos or Flixbus and depending on the day, time and website you use, the ticket price can vary between €3 and €15 (single ticket).
If possible, choose the direct route.

Option 3: Transfer, uber or taxi (duration: 1h30)
Transfer, Uber or Taxi
By car, it takes around 1h30 from Oporto Airport to Viseu. A transfer costs around 150€. Uber and Taxi are also options.

From Lisbon to Viseu
Starting from Lisbon Airport
Option 1: Bus (duration: 5h)
From the airport to Viseu
Depending on the day and time you arrive at the airport, you may take a bus from the airport to Viseu via Flixbus. Tickets can cost between 15€ and 30€. This is not a direct route.
Note: These journeys are not regular, so when you arrive at the airport this option may not be available.

Option 2: Metro and Bus (duration: 4h to 6h)
Airport – Oriente – Viseu
Lisbon Metro works from 6.30am to 1am. You can buy tickets at a vending machine. The metro journey should cost no more than €5 (single ticket).
Step 1
Get to the metro station
Follow the signs on the airport to the metro station. It’s on the right side of the main airport exit.

Step 2
Take the metro to Oriente Station
Take the red line headed to São Sebastião. Get out at Oriente (3 stops). This should take about 6 minutes.
Step 3
Take a bus to Viseu
Leave the metro at Oriente station, walk upstairs and go to the bus station. You can buy the ticket from Rede Expressos or Flixbus and depending on the day, time and website you use, the ticket price is around €20 (single ticket). If possible, choose the direct route.
Note: There are also buses leaving from Sete Rios station. For that option, take the same metro until S. Sebastião station and then take the blue line, direction Reboleira, and exit at Jardim Zoológico station.

Option 3: Transfer, uber or taxi (duration: 3h)

By car, it takes around 3h from Lisbon Airport to Viseu. A transfer costs around 300€. Uber and Taxi are also options.

Moving in Viseu
When you arrive to Viseu you can move around using public transports, taxi or Uber. Viseu also has a wide cycle network and there are some bike rental options available.
MUV Bus
MUV Viseu operates 29 bus routes, providing extensive public transport coverage across the city. The buses C1 and C2 run every 20 minutes and loop around the city centre, making them the best option for easy travel within Viseu’s central areas.
IPV Bus Stop
There are several bus stops near the Polytechnic of Viseu, providing convenient transport links to the campus and surrounding areas. These stops are served by various bus routes, including lines 10, 11, 12, 13, 19, 21, and C1. However, the “Residências IPV” stop is only served by the C1 bus.
